Phase 1 would cover areas from Kapur Bawdi to Dhamankar Naka, while Phase 2 would go up to Kalyan APMC and include Bhiwandi. The above-mentioned corridor would reduce road traffic and optimize air quality to millions of passengers.The scope of work includes design, manufacture, test, and commissioning works for 132 metro coaches, consisting of communication-based signaling, train control, and telecommunication systems. Other works include platform screen doors, depot equipment, and maintenance.Titagarh Rail will supply the trains with an extensive five-year maintenance package after the initial two-year defect liability period. The delivery process has been structured to meet the pace of the construction process to ensure that the whole network is operational.In Phase 1, the prototype train will arrive after 56 weeks from the signing ceremony, and then there will be two trains by week 78, with another nine trains by week 96. Phase 2 will commence with two trains by week 180 and then eight final sets by week 196.The metro trains that are to be introduced will be powered by state-of-the-art propulsion systems and energy-efficient technology; passengers will also be safer.
