Indonesia’s cosmetics industry is projected to grow rapidly through 2025, with the market expected to reach IDR158 trillion this year, up from IDR146 trillion in 2024. According to Indonesian Cosmetics Companies Association (Perkosmi) chairman Sancoyo Antarikso, the surge is driven by rising consumer interest in local beauty products, which are increasingly recognized in global markets, especially Southeast Asia. He highlighted that Indonesian brands are competitive thanks to their quality, innovation, and creativity, supported by factors such as a young population, stronger purchasing power, and the proliferation of new brands through maklon services. Despite the strong outlook, the industry faces challenges, including heavy reliance on imported raw materials and the need to maintain safety, quality, and sustainability standards. Perkosmi continues to strengthen competitiveness through initiatives like the Indonesia Cosmetic Ingredients (ICI) Expo, which has become the country’s largest platform for innovation and collaboration.
