Uzbekistan to join the EAEU common transit system On Friday, the press service of the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC) reported that EEC Minister for Customs Cooperation Ruslan Davydov, during a working meeting with Akhmaljoja Mavlonov, Chairman of the State Customs Committee under the Ministry of Economy and Finance of Uzbekistan, discussed key areas of cooperation in the customs sphere between the countries of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) and Uzbekistan."Readiness was confirmed to launch work on Uzbekistan's accession to the EAEU common transit system. This will simplify customs procedures and speed up the delivery of both transit goods and goods in mutual trade," the statement said."Interest was expressed in organizing the exchange of customs information on goods and vehicles to increase the transparency of foreign trade operations and improve the efficiency of customs control," the press service added.During the meeting, the EEC minister familiarized himself with the work of the target center and the electronic declaration center of Uzbekistan's State Customs Committee, assessed the mechanisms for implementing artificial intelligence to optimize customs control, as well as the intelligent information system for evaluating the work of customs inspectors."Davydov spoke about the prospects for using electronic navigation seals in the EAEU and also proposed working out the issue of using seals from Tashkent to St. Petersburg," the message said.The agreement on the common transit system of the EAEU and a third party (third parties) was signed on December 26, 2024.
