GOVT POLICIES DRIVE STRONG GROWTH IN INDONESIA’S CERAMIC INDUSTRY
Indonesia’s ceramic industry has recorded a major upswing in 2025, with new production capacity reaching 25 million square meters and generating 1,500 jobs. The Indonesian Ceramic Association (Asaki) attributes this growth to three government policies—anti-dumping measures, market safeguards, and mandatory national standards—which have created a strong multiplier effect. The expansion has allowed domestic producers to fully replace imports that previously totaled 80 million square meters annually. Another key development is the widespread adoption of Original Equipment Manufacturing (OEM) partnerships, with nearly 90% of major importers now contracting local manufacturers to produce ceramics under their own brands. This shift offers advantages such as reliable supply, stable pricing, and better after-sales service, making Indonesia’s ceramic ecosystem more competitive. With rising demand and stronger local capabilities, the sector is expected to become a central driver of Indonesia’s manufacturing industry by 2026, underscoring the success of government-industry collaboration.Source: https://rri.co.id/en/business/1974580/govt-policies-drive-strong-growth-in-indonesia-s-ceramic-industry (ICE GIACARTA)
