Kazakhstan explores possibility of launching electric taxi service with Vietnam's VinGroupVietnamese company VinGroup is exploring possibilities for launching a passenger transport service using VinFast electric vehicles, according to the press service of Kazakh Invest."In Kazakhstan, VinGroup is exploring possibilities for launching a passenger transport service using VinFast electric vehicles, implementing a network of charging stations, as well as localizing service and production facilities," stated the Kazakh Invest release, distributed on Monday.Furthermore, the company is interested in projects in the spheres of education, medicine, development, and smart city infrastructure.As explained by the Kazakh company, Madiiar Sultanbek, Deputy CEO of Kazakh Invest, held a meeting with a delegation from the Vietnamese holding company VinGroup SNG, which included representatives from its subsidiary GSM (Green and Smart Mobility), led by General Director Nguyen Van Thanh."During the talks, the parties discussed prospects for implementing projects in Kazakhstan in the fields of electric transport, charging infrastructure, and sustainable mobility, as well as possibilities for establishing a GSM regional office in Almaty, which would become a coordination center for the company's activities in the CIS region," the press release notes.According to Kazakh Invest, GSM, which is part of the VinGroup structure, is the largest electric transport platform in Southeast Asia. Operating under the brand Xanh SM, it serves over 12 million customers, operates approximately 100,000 electric vehicles, holds a 40% share of the Vietnamese taxi market, and is actively expanding its presence in other countries in the region.
