Kazakhstan government projects minimum 5% annual GDP growth through 2028The government of Kazakhstan plans to ensure economic growth of no less than 5% annually from 2026 through 2028, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of National Economy Serik Zhumangarin said Wednesday."From 2026 to 2028, the economy will grow at an average rate of no less than 5% per year," Zhumangarin said at a government meeting in Astana. He specified that these forecasts are outlined in the program for macroeconomic stabilization and improvement of population well-being for 2026-2028.Zhumangarin noted that the government will target more than just growth across GDP sectors. "In ensuring growth, we will account for the contribution of such important factors as human capital, fixed capital, natural resources, labor productivity and technology," he said.According to the adopted baseline scenario for Kazakhstan's socioeconomic development, real GDP growth will be 5.4% in 2026, with an average annual growth rate of 5.3% over the three-year period.
