Kazakhstan boosts new-harvest grain exports by 18%Kazakhstan exported 2.6 million tonnes of new-harvest grain from September 1 to November 13 of this year, an 18% increase from the same period last year (2.2 million tonnes), the Ministry of Agriculture said, citing data from Kazakhstan Temir Zholy JSC, the national railway operator.According to the ministry, export growth has been recorded across several key markets, primarily neighboring countries.Shipments to Uzbekistan rose by 41% (from 872,000 tonnes to 1.232 million tonnes), to Kyrgyzstan by 120% (from 32,000 tonnes to 73,000 tonnes), to Azerbaijan by 30% (from 50,000 tonnes to 65,000 tonnes), and to Afghanistan by 35% (from 100,000 tonnes to 135,000 tonnes).As reported earlier, the Ministry of Agriculture plans to supply 13 million tonnes of new-harvest grain to foreign markets during the current agricultural year (September 2025–August 2026), effectively maintaining the country’s export potential at last season’s level.Kazakhstan increased its grain harvest this year by 2% to 27 million tonnes, with an average yield of 1.7 tonnes per hectare. In 2024, farmers harvested 26.5 million tonnes at an average yield of 1.6 tonnes per hectare. (ICE ALMATY)
