UniCredit has increased its stake in Alpha Bank to 29.5% following approval from the European Central Bank (ECB) to acquire up to 29.9%. The move strengthens UniCredit’s strategic partnership with Greece’s second-largest lender and highlights its confidence in the Greek economy and banking sector. The successful partnership with Alpha Bank enables both groups to leverage their strengths and expand collaboration across payments, specialised financing, advisory, capital markets, asset management, and insurance services.
