INFRASTRUCTURE & RENEWABLE ENERGY WILL BOOST INDONESIA'S CONSTRUCTION PROSPECT
The Indonesian construction industry is expected to enter 2026 with stronger momentum, following stable growth over the past two years. National construction value is projected to rise from IDR 308.9 trillion in 2024 to IDR 331.5 trillion in 2026, with modest growth of 0.8% in 2025 and a sharper 6.5% increase in 2026, reflecting a CAGR of 3.6%. Infrastructure development remains the main driver, supported by government initiatives in transportation, housing, and the new capital city, alongside renewable energy projects targeting 17 GW of solar and 11 GW of hydropower by 2034. On the private side, industrial construction is expanding rapidly, with a CAGR of 12.9% and strong growth in logistics, healthcare, hospitality, and data centers, including 250 MW of new capacity. Residential development is steady, with integrated townships gaining popularity in Bali, Jakarta, Surabaya, and Batam. Despite this positive outlook, challenges persist, including labor shortages, slow permitting, high material costs, and financing gaps that require blended strategies and stronger public-private collaboration. The sector is shifting from recovery toward long-term strategic investment, shaped by global energy transitions, digitalization, and evolving urban needs.Source: https://industri.kontan.co.id/news/infrastruktur-dan-energi-terbarukan-dongkrak-prospek-konstruksi-indonesia-pada-2026 (ICE GIACARTA)
