EUROSTAT: BASIC SALARY IN POLAND IS ONE OF THE LOWEST IN THE EU

The average basic salary of a Polish employee, calculated on a full-time basis, increased to EUR21,250 in 2024. This was almost 17 percent more than in the previous year, but still almost half the average salary of a full-time employee in EU countries, which rose to EUR39,800 last year. The latest Eurostat data from November show that Poland is still one of the EU countries with the lowest basic salary (excluding bonuses and various allowances). Only employees in Romania (although the difference is minimal), Slovakia, Hungary, Greece and Bulgaria have a lower average annual full-time salary than in Poland. In their case the average salary is the lowest in the EU (EUR15,400). (ICE VARSAVIA)
