Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan sign two-year plan to expand transport linksKazakhstan and Turkmenistan forged a broader partnership Tuesday, signing 11 agreements that included a two-year action plan to deepen transportation connectivity starting in 2026.The transport plan was finalized during an official state visit by Turkmen President Serdar Berdimuhamedov to Astana, where he met with Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev.The broader package of documents is designed to strengthen intergovernmental cooperation and regional partnership across multiple sectors.The signed agreements include: a memorandum of understanding on legal affairs between the two countries' justice ministries; a cooperation plan in healthcare for 2026-2027; an agreement on collaboration in migration and information sharing on pension provision between labor ministries; and partnerships in veterinary science and agricultural research.Further agreements were signed to boost cultural and scientific ties, including a memorandum between the Mangystau region of Kazakhstan and Turkmenistan's Balkan region on trade, economic, and cultural development.
