INDONESIA-UNIDO PARTNERSHIP FRAMEWORK FOR GREEN INDUSTRY REFORM ACCELERATED

The Indonesian Ministry of Industry is advancing the Indonesia– United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) Programme for Country Partnership (IUPCP) 2026–2030, following the achievements of the 2021–2025 framework. The new program focuses on green industry transformation, competitiveness, and alignment with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). During a bilateral meeting in Riyadh with UNIDO officials, Deputy Minister Faisol Riza highlighted the role of initiatives like the Global Eco-Industrial Parks Program (GEIPP) and the Global Greenchem Innovation and Network Program (GGINP), which have already impacted the industrial sector. Five estates—Batamindo, MM2100, KIIC Karawang, Medan Industrial Estate, and Deltamas—are now pilot sites for GEIPP’s second phase. The partnership will expand into areas such as certification, downstream development, supply chains, digitalization, human resource development, and regional industry growth. Plans include establishing an Eco-Industrial Park Center and exploring collaboration with the BRICS Center for Industrial Competencies. Faisol stressed that green transformation is essential for sustainability and competitiveness, urging expansion beyond Java to ensure equitable benefits nationwide. To support this, the Ministry is finalizing regulations for green industrial area transformation, aiming to guarantee that the transition benefits both businesses and communities.Source: https://rri.co.id/en/business/2000098/ri-unido-partnership-framework-for-green-industry-reform-accelerated  (ICE GIACARTA)
