NAVI MUMBAI SET TO WELCOME A STATE-OF-THE-ART SCIENCE PARK BY 2026
Navi Mumbai is gearing up for a major leap in educational recreation as the Municipal Corporation launches a futuristic Science Park at Wonders Park, Nerul. Designed to blend learning with exploration, this initiative promises to become a hub for students, families, and science enthusiasts alike. The first phase of the project is expected to be completed by January 2026, after which the second phase—including interior enhancements and exhibition setups—will commence.Currently, Navi Mumbai has limited recreational or educational spaces for students beyond standard parks and playgrounds. This new science park aims to fill that gap by providing an interactive environment where both young learners and senior citizens can deepen their knowledge. The park will showcase cutting-edge global technologies, featuring innovations in robotics, artificial intelligence, and fascinating geographical phenomena. After five years of development, the project is now moving rapidly toward completion, with 90% of the first phase already done, including the construction and structural design of the park’s iconic dome. The remaining 10% of work is expected to wrap up by December 2025, after which the second phase will focus on interior decorations, exhibition installations, seating arrangements, electrical setups, and the beautification of art galleries and other spaces within the park. Initially estimated at ₹105 crore, the total cost of the project has now risen to ₹150 crore. Construction is progressing across a sprawling 20,000 square meter area, reflecting the ambitious scale of this venture. The science park will feature 278 exhibitions spanning multiple disciplines: Life Sciences Exhibition – 59.Energy Science Exhibition – 40.Environmental Science Exhibition – 65.Machines & Motion Exhibition – 42.Inner Energy / Consciousness Exhibition – 49.External Art Exhibits – 23.Innovative Dome and German EngineeringOne of the highlights of the park is its semi-circular dome, constructed from iron and other durable metals. Covering 10,125 square meters, the dome is lined with glass to prevent echoes when it rains—a thoughtful touch designed for visitor comfort. Interestingly, the materials for this lightweight roof are being imported from Germany, reflecting the global standard of the project.Facilities to Enhance LearningInteractive science exhibits.Museum Dome for immersive displays.Convention / expo center.Seamless connectivity with Wonders Park.Proposed vintage car museum.Student experimentation and learning center. The park is expected to:Boost science-focused tourism in Navi Mumbai.Encourage hands-on, experimental learning for students.Establish a new identity for the Nerul-Seawoods area.Promote educational workshops and field trips.Strengthen the city’s reputation as a hub of scientific innovation.https://www.mypunepulse.com/navi-mumbai-set-to-welcome-a-state-of-the-art-science-park-by-2026/ (ICE MUMBAI)
