INDONESIA PLANS COAL EXPORT TAX STARTING 2026, FOLLOWING GOLD LEVY
Finance Minister Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa announced the government is actively discussing implementing an export duty (Bea Keluar/BK) on coal starting potentially in 2026, aligning with the planned 15% gold export tax. The Minister stated that royalty contributions from coal are currently disproportionately low compared to oil and gas. He confirmed the policy will proceed regardless of price fluctuations, aiming to increase state revenue and accurately map export volumes, projecting Rp2-6 trillion in initial revenue from the related gold tax.Source: https://industri.kontan.co.id/news/menkeu-purbaya-pemerintah-siapkan-bea-keluar-batubara-mulai-2026 (ICE GIACARTA)
