NEW IDR900 BILLION SOLAR POWER PLANT IN INDONESIA'S NEW CAPITAL CITY NUSANTARA

The Authority of IKN Nusantara (OIKN) has launched a IDR900 billion (US$52.5 million) solar power plant project in partnership with PT Nusantara Sembcorp Solar Energi (NSSE) to supply clean energy to Penajam Paser Utara and Kutai Kartanegara in East Kalimantan. OIKN head Basuki Hadimuljono emphasized that the 50-megawatt facility, expected to generate 92.8 GWh annually, is central to IKN’s vision of becoming a sustainable forest city, with green energy forming the foundation of Indonesia’s future capital. Basuki highlighted that the PLTS will serve as the backbone of IKN’s low-carbon electricity system, ensuring reliable supply while accelerating the transition to renewable energy. The project, aligned with Indonesia’s net-zero emissions target by 2060, reinforces emission reduction and energy efficiency from the earliest stages of city planning. He stressed that IKN is being built not only as a modern smart city but also as a driver of national clean energy transformation, strengthening energy security and advancing Indonesia’s sustainable future.\Source: https://en.antaranews.com/news/394277/ikn-boosts-green-future-with-new-rp900-billion-solar-power-plant?utm_source=antaranews&utm_medium=mobile&utm_campaign=latest_category  (ICE GIACARTA)
