INDONESIA’S NICKEL SURPLUS COULD POWER METALS INDUSTRY, NOT JUST EVS, says report
A report by Rystad Energy highlights that Indonesia’s fast-growing nickel output could support a broader downstream ecosystem beyond EV batteries. The study projects a nickel surplus exceeding 500,000 tonnes by 2030, enabling expansion in stainless steel, alloys, plating, and chemical industries. Rystad analysts cautioned that global EV demand may be insufficient to absorb future supply, stressing the need for industrial diversification and stronger environmental safeguards to maintain market competitiveness.Source: https://www.businesstimes.com.sg/international/asean/indonesias-nickel-surplus-could-power-metals-industry-not-just-evs-says-report (ICE GIACARTA)
