KAZAKHSTAN-GOVERNMENT-GRAIN-EXPORTERS

Kazakh Government to additionally support grain exporters with 7 bln tengeThe Government of Kazakhstan is allocating an additional 7 billion tenge to support grain exporters, the press service of the Cabinet of Ministers reports. The funds will be used to fully cover the state's obligations under the current program for subsidizing transportation costs, as well as to further stimulate supplies to priority foreign markets. The additional funding became necessary due to the high grain harvest and increased demand for Kazakh grain from foreign buyers, the statement said. This year, 31 billion tenge from the government's reserve has already been allocated to subsidize transport costs. These funds ensured the entry of Kazakh products into new export destinations, the restoration of supplies to previously lost markets, and an increase in export volumes to non-CIS countries via alternative logistics routes. As a result of the implemented measures, the volume of supplies to new and restored markets exceeded 2.5 million tonnes.A decision was previously made to extend the transportation cost subsidy program until 2026, with appropriate funding of at least 30 billion tenge. The Ministry of Agriculture plans to send 13 million tonnes of the new harvest grain to foreign markets in the current agricultural year (September 2025 - August 2026), practically maintaining the figure of the previous agricultural year.Kazakhstan increased grain harvest this year by 2%, to 27 million tonnes, with a yield of 17 dt/ha. In 2024, farmers harvested 26.5 million tonnes with an average yield of 16 dt/ha. (ICE ALMATY)
