PHASE 3 OF CENTRAL CHILDREN'S HOSPITAL OPENS IN BAGHDAD

Prime Minister Mohammed Shia' Al-Sudani opened the third phase of rehabilitation works at the Central Children's Hospital in Baghdad, after the facility was fully completed and restored to its full capacity of 400 beds.During the opening ceremony, he said the hospital is one of Baghdad's most important specialised medical facilities, noting that the rehabilitation project was implemented by the Service and Engineering Effort Team to accommodate large patient numbers and improve medical and treatment services.Al-Sudani said the third phase added 86 beds, alongside the rehabilitation of specialised paediatric wards and units for infectious diseases, respiratory conditions, intensive care and surgery. He noted that the hospital currently receives more than 300 outpatient consultation cases per day, around 100 emergency cases, and carries out approximately 60 surgical operations daily. The Prime Minister also said 22 hospitals have been opened over the past three years, and that the government aims to reach a nationwide capacity of 60,000 hospital beds once current projects under implementation are completed. These include new 100-bed hospitals and the completion of larger facilities with capacities of 400 beds or more across several provinces. (ICE AMMAN)
