Transit from China via TITR up 12% in first 10 monthsTransit traffic from China along the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route (TITR) rose 12% in the first ten months of 2025, Kazakhstan’s Sovereign Wealth Fund Samruk-Kazyna said in a press release.“Over the first ten months of the year, 292 container trains were dispatched from China via the TITR, 12% more than in the same period last year,” the fund said.According to the statement, growth was driven by an “established terminal network and streamlined logistics with China.” A key element is the Kazakh-Chinese terminal at the Xi’an dry port, which handles a significant share of shipments.Plans also call for strengthening the route through the container hub at the port of Aktau and the ZHETYSU logistics terminal in Almaty. The fund noted that projects implemented by Kazakhstan Temir Zholy (KTZ) to expand the country’s transport and transit capacity remain a priority within Samruk-Kazyna’s investment portfolio. As reported, in July Kazakhstan Temir Zholy and China Railway signed a comprehensive strategic cooperation agreement that includes further development of the TITR.
