Construction, food industry, manufacturing remain drivers of Kazakhstan's economic growthManufacturing, construction and food production remain the drivers of Kazakhstan's economic growth, the press service of the Ministry of National Economy of the Republic reports.It is reported that these data were announced at a meeting of the headquarters for ensuring economic growth chaired by Deputy Prime Minister - Minister of National Economy Serik Zhumangarin.The manufacturing industry of the Republic demonstrates steady dynamics over 10 months: in mechanical engineering (17.5% contribution to manufacturing) growth of 14% is forecast for 11 months, and 16.3% for the year.Growth in the chemical industry (5.4% contribution to manufacturing) is forecast to be 8% for the year.Metallurgy, which provides 40% of the physical volume increase in manufacturing, showed growth of 0.7% compared to last year. The forecast for 11 months is 0.8%, and 1.1% is expected at the end of the year.In general, manufacturing is expected to grow by 6.2% for the year, which is 0.8 percentage points above the plan.According to preliminary estimates of the Ministry of National Economy for the construction sector, 19.2 million square meters of housing will be commissioned by the end of the year, which is 0.4% more than last year. The volume of construction work by the end of the year is expected to be 10.4 trillion tenge, which is more than 15% higher than last year's figure.The processing sector of the agro-industrial complex (AIC) shows steady growth - 9.1% in 10 months. The greatest contribution is provided by the flour milling and oil and fat industries. Flour production increased by 7% - from 2.6 million tonnes to 2.8 million tonnes. Vegetable oil production volume increased by 21.7% - from 596,000 tonnes to 726,000 tonnes.Investments in fixed capital in the AIC processing sector as a whole increased by 60%, exports of processed products - by 32.4%. Growth forecast for 11 months is 9.2%, at the end of the year - 9.3% with a plan of 4.5%. The task for 2026 is to increase the share of processed AIC products to 70%. (ICE ALMATY)
