DOHA FORUM KICKS OFF IN QATAR WITH REPRESENTATIVES FROM 160 COUNTRIES

The Doha Forum has officially opened in Qatar, with representatives from 160 countries, including Afghanistan in attendance.Abdul Hai Qanit, head of the Strategic Studies Center at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan and one of the speakers at the forum, said that discussions on the second day will focus on Afghanistan's regional relations and the issue of connectivity.According to him, the Islamic Emirate is pursuing a balanced, economy-driven foreign policy and seeks to expand its engagement with the world.He emphasized: "It is important for Afghanistan to contribute its perspective to major regional initiatives at global forums like this one. Such platforms offer Afghanistan an opportunity to share its vision for future relations with the region."Zakir Jalali, Deputy Director for Political Affairs at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, said: "It is important that Afghanistan is part of the discussions at this forum, especially on topics where the country plays an active role such as regional connectivity. The Islamic Emirate believes that an economy-focused foreign policy and regional integration are key pillars of its approach."Meanwhile, Ismatullah Irgashev, Special Representative of the President of Uzbekistan for Afghanistan, told TOLOnews on the sidelines of the forum that his country continues to support the Afghan people."Uzbekistan remains committed to its ongoing efforts to support the people of Afghanistan," he said.At the same time, several political analysts noted that although the Islamic Emirate has not yet been officially recognized by most countries, its participation in international gatherings such as the Doha Forum could play a meaningful role in addressing the challenges faced by the Afghan people.Omar Samad, a political analyst, stated: "What matters most is that the exchange of views at such forums benefits the Afghan people helping resolve their problems and improve the situation both domestically and regionally."On the second day of the forum, a dedicated session titled “Afghanistan’s Recovery Through Regional Connectivity” is scheduled, with a representative of the Islamic Emirate set to speak at the forum for the first time.
