The Israeli newspaper Maariv reported that Israel has informed Jordan of its intention not to deliver the Kingdom’s agreed-upon annual water quota. According to the report, Tel Aviv will withhold approximately 50 million cubic meters of water stipulated in the 1994 peace agreement. The newspaper stated that Israeli officials have attributed the issue to technical and pricing-related factors, while Jordan’s Ministry of Water has asserted that the matter is not related to engineering concerns.
