The Government of the Republic of Croatia has, for the first time, adopted a support program for small dairies to co-finance the purchase of equipment for milk collection. The program is worth four million euros, and it is estimated that 25 dairies could benefit from it by 2027. The aim of the program is to provide support to small dairies for the purchase of equipment for the collection and transport of fresh raw milk, thereby maintaining the existing level of production and processing of cow’s, sheep’s, and goat’s milk, as well as enabling the improvement and modernization of small dairies. According to estimates by the Ministry of Agriculture, the number of potential beneficiaries is 25, namely four small dairies that collect more than one million kilograms of milk and 21 dairies that collect less than one million kilograms of milk. The support intensity amounts to up to 65 percent of eligible costs. For beneficiaries that collected more than one million kilograms of milk in 2024, the support may amount to up to 500,000 euros, while for those that collected up to one million kilograms of milk, the support may amount to up to 120,000 euros during the program period.
