GREECE SUBMITS 2026 STATE BUDGET TO PARLIAMENT: STRONG GROWTH AND LOWER UNEMPLOYMENT FORECAST

Greece has submitted its 2026 State Budget to parliament, expecting steady economic growth next year. GDP is forecast to rise by 2.4%, supported mainly by a strong increase in investments of over 10%. Private and public consumption are set to grow moderately, while exports and imports will both increase by around 4–5%. Unemployment is projected to drop further to 8.6%, the lowest level since 2008. Nominal GDP is expected to reach €260.9 billion in 2026, up from €249.6 billion in 2025. Inflation is predicted to ease to 2.2% from this year’s 2.6%. Overall, the budget aims to keep the economy stable, boost investments, and support long-term growth. (ICE ATENE)
