Greece will move ahead with another early repayment of European loans issued under the Greek Loan Facility (GLF), continuing its strategy of reducing exposure to floating interest-rate debt. The new repayment package totals €5.287 billion and includes a proportional repayment of loans maturing between 2033 and 2039, as well as the full repayment of those expiring in 2040 and 2041.This marks the fourth consecutive year of early repayments. Greece previously repaid €7.935 billion in December 2024, €5.29 billion in December 2023, and €2.645 billion in December 2022, reflecting the country’s ongoing commitment to improving its debt profile and strengthening fiscal stability.
