SINGAPORE LEADS SOUTHEAST ASIA GREEN STARTUPS AS REGIONAL HUB
Singapore has emerged as Southeast Asia’s largest hub for green-economy startups, hosting 494 companies, or about 45% of the total across six major markets, according to Padang & Co. Padang & Co identified five areas where Singapore is positioned to move fastest. These include distributed energy resources, virtual power plants, and demand response; industrial and petrochemical decarbonisation on Jurong Island. Additionally, it highlighted the city-state’s grid-interactive, low-carbon and high-density data centres; clean-energy imports, regional interconnection and virtual power purchase agreements; and maritime and aviation decarbonisation, including biofuel feedstocks. The firm said Singapore’s role reflects its position as Southeast Asia’s most advanced economy, with strengths in advanced manufacturing, industrial decarbonisation, carbon markets, and digital innovation. These capabilities make it a launchpad for climate solutions that can be scaled across the region. https://sbr.com.sg/news/singapore-leads-southeast-asia-green-startups-regional-hub (ICE SINGAPORE)
