DANANTARA, PLN SIGN DEAL TO ACCELERATE INDONESIA’S RENEWABLE ENERGY PUSH
Sovereign investment fund Danantara Indonesia has signed a preliminary agreement with state-owned utility company Perusahaan Listrik Negara (PLN) to accelerate investment in renewable energy projects, as Southeast Asia’s largest economy pushes to scale up green power capacity. The partnership is aimed at accelerating Indonesia’s shift to green power in line with the country’s 2025–2034 power development plan, which anticipates 70 GW of new capacity — 76% of it from renewable sources — and requires roughly IDR 600 trillion (US$36 billion) in early‑phase investment. Both parties emphasized that the collaboration goes beyond financing. Danantara plans to help address on-the-ground project challenges, improve access to competitive funding, and support job creation in the green sector. PLN welcomed the partnership as essential to strengthening the financial structure behind Indonesia’s national renewable energy pipeline and ensuring timely execution of green projects.Source: https://jakartaglobe.id/business/danantara-pln-sign-deal-to-accelerate-indonesias-renewable-energy-push (ICE GIACARTA)
