Kazakhstan increases new-crop grain exports by nearly 15%Kazakhstan exported 3.9 million tonnes of grain from the 2025 harvest as of December 24, up 14.7% year-on-year from 3.4 million tonnes, the Agriculture Ministry’s press service reported.Grain shipments to Uzbekistan rose by 31% from 1,300 tonnes to 1,700 tonnes, exports to Kyrgyzstan more than doubled, increasing from 59,000 tonnes to 122,000 tonnes, while deliveries to Afghanistan grew by 36.8%, reaching 260,000 tonnes compared with 190,000 tonnes a year earlier.The Agriculture Ministry plans to export 13 million tonnes of new-crop grain in the current agricultural year (September 2025 through August 2026), broadly in line with the previous season.Kazakhstan’s total grain harvest rose by 2% this year to 27 million tonnes. Average yields increased to 1,7 tonnes per hectare from 1,6 tonnes per hectare in 2024, when total output amounted to 26.5 million tonnes. (ICE ALMATY)
