Cyberport 5: Hong Kong’s new Landmark for Innovation & Technology is Ready for the Future A bold step forward As Hong Kong accelerates its transformation into an international I&T center, Cyberport, the city’s flagship digital technology platform, takes a bold step forward with the construction of Cyberport 5. This ten-storey building with a panoramic sea view, strategically located on the northwest side of the Cyberport waterfront park, spans 1.6 hectares and boasts a total gross floor area of approximately 66,000 square meters. Among this, 36,000 square meters are dedicated to office and co-working spaces. The expansion project will add 40% of Cyberport’s current gross floor area and cater to the needs of next-generation tech enterprises with smart offices. Simon Chan, Chairman of Cyberport, emphasized the importance of this expansion, stating, “The Cyberport expansion project marks a key milestone in the evolution of Hong Kong’s I&T infrastructure. It offers more extensive and vibrant spaces for technology enterprises, enabling Hong Kong to foster new quality productive forces and to drive the development of strategic emerging industries.” Cyberport 5 is designed with the future in mind. Its architectural features include a curvilinear and cascading design, which integrates atriums, skylights, and outdoor terraces. This innovative structure aims to promote interaction and collaboration among users, fostering an environment conducive to creativity and innovation. The building will also include flexible workspaces and dedicated collaborative areas, with elevated walkways connecting to the adjacent campus, encouraging seamless movement and engagement among tenants. Advanced technological infrastructure One of the standout features of Cyberport 5 is its advanced technological infrastructure. The building will house a Tier-III+ grade sustainable data center, positioned as a central hub for data services. This facility will be adjacent to Hong Kong’s largest Artificial Intelligence Supercomputing Centre (AISC) provide 3,000 petaFLOPS in computing power and the Hong Kong Internet Exchange (HKIX), ensuring high power density and top-performance data storage and computing capabilities. At the heart of Cyberport 5’s connectivity offering is a thoughtfully engineered infrastructure designed to streamline and safeguard mission-critical telecommunications. Featuring dual-path single-mode dark fibre risers for near-unlimited bandwidth and multi-cloud on-ramps, Secure riser access accelerates installations while protecting assets. This dual vertical riser approach maximises resilience and redundancy, supporting virtually unlimited data speeds and ensuring uninterrupted connectivity for demanding operations, such as cloud computing and AI applications. Secure access to risers on each floor prevents unauthorised entry while accelerating the installation of connectivity solutions. complemented by Wi-Fi 7, comprehensive 5G coverage, and 10G fibre-to-office broadband for seamless connectivity.
