TURKMENISTAN AND JAPAN SIGN SERIES OF AGREEMENTS
President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov, on a working visit to Tokyo held a business meeting on Friday with leaders of major Japanese companies. The meeting concluded with a ceremony for the signing of several agreements, according to official Turkmen media.The documents signed include:• A Memorandum of understanding between the Ministry of Communications of Turkmenistan and Mitsubishi on information exchange and the implementation of artificial intelligence and digital technologies;• A cooperation agreement between the State Bank for Foreign Economic Affairs of Turkmenistan and Mizuho Bank;• A Memorandum between Turkmenhimiya and Kawasaki LTD on extending maintenance terms for the gasoline-from-gas plant in Ahal;• A Memorandum between Turkmenhimiya, the Toyo consortium (Japan), and Rönesans (Turkey) on the second phase of ensuring reliable operation of the polymer plant in Kiyanly;• A Memorandum between Turkmenhimiya, Mitsubishi, Mitsubishi Corporation, and the Turkish group Gap Inşaat on the construction of a urea production complex with a capacity of 1.155 million tons per year in Turkmenbashi District.The signed documents are expected to lay the foundation for expanding partnerships, introducing advanced technologies, and implementing joint projects that will further strengthen economic cooperation between the two countries.During the meeting, President Berdimuhamedov proposed initiatives for a wastewater treatment improvement project, the construction of a modern plant for processing household and construction waste, and the development of mini-plants for recycling PET plastic bottles and household appliances.
