Indonesia has launched Perpres 109/2025 to accelerate Waste-to-Energy (PSEL) projects across ten agglomeration areas, including Bogor and Denpasar. Managed by BPI Danantara, the initiative targets completion by 2027 using incinerator technology. To resolve previous funding gridlocks, the government abolished "tipping fees," requiring PT PLN to purchase electricity at a higher rate of US$20 cents/kWh, supported by state subsidies.
