QUANTITY OF GOODS AT PORT OF BEIRUT INCREASED BY 18% YEAR-ON-YEAR IN 11M-2025

According to the latest statistics released by the Port of Beirut (PoB), the quantity of goods increased by 18.0% year-on-year, reaching 5,863.6 thousand tons in the first 11 months (11M) of 2025, up from 4,967.7 thousand tons in 11M-2024. Concurrently, the number of containers saw a yearly increase of 23.5%, totaling 635,241 containers in 11M-2025. On the other hand, the number of ships decreased over the period, reaching 1,286 ships in 11M-2025, showing a year-on-year contraction of 4.8%. Transshipments at PoB recorded 206,947 containers in 11M-2025, showing a year-on-year increase of 10.9% during the period. Looking at the recovery rate in the quantity of goods imported through PoB during 11M-2025 against the same period of 2019, a rate of 94.8% is noted. This recovery rate is 14.5 percentage points higher than the one noted in 11M-2024 and stands as the highest recorded recovery rate since the startof the crisis, as per data from PoB.  Looking at the Port of Beirut’s performance in November 2025, the quantity of goods reported a jump of 43.4% year-on-year compared to the same month of the year prior. The number of containers noted a year-on-year expansion of 27.4% year-on-year while transshipments through PoB noted a year-on-year jump of 87.8% between November 2024 and November 2025. In parallel, the number of ships recorded at PoB during November 2025 recorded a year-on-year increase of 8.0% against the same month of the previous year, according to data from PoB. (ICE BEIRUT)
