Kazakhstan plans $75m export of home-built satellitesKazakhstan aims to export domestically manufactured Earth observation satellites worth $75 million over the coming years, a senior government official said Tuesday."The production complex for domestic satellites, which falls under the Ministry of Artificial Intelligence, is now operating at an increased capacity," Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Artificial Intelligence and Digital Development Jaslan Madiyev told a government meeting. "We plan to manufacture at least five to six Earth observation satellites there in the coming years, including exports valued at $75 million."He emphasized that this high-tech satellite export would be a first in Kazakhstan's history.The ministry has secured export agreements to supply satellites to Mongolia, Congo, and Nigeria in 2024-2025, according to a presentation by the deputy prime minister. The initiative is part of a broader strategy to establish an international satellite constellation under the "Made in Qazaqstan" brand. (ICE ALMATY)
