INDONESIA'S PERTAMINA UNCOVERS NEW OIL WELL, YIELDS UP TO 3,442 BARRELS DAILY
PT Pertamina EP (PEP) Adera Field—part of Pertamina Hulu Rokan (PHR) Regional Sumatra Zone 4—has discovered a new oil well in South Sumatra with an estimated flow potential of up to 3,442 barrels per day, based on a two‑hour test conducted on December 30, 2025. The ABB‑143 (U1) well is expected to contribute an additional 458 barrels per day under normal operating conditions, with an Estimated Ultimate Recovery (EUR) of around 750,000 barrels, derived from comparisons with an existing reference well. This breakthrough is attributed to the integration of newly acquired Abab 3D seismic data (2023) and enhanced geological and reservoir studies by the Geology, Geophysics, Reservoir, and Production (GGRP) team. PEP Adera Field is continuing with further well‑testing phases, including multi‑rate testing, to determine optimal production rates and reservoir characteristics such as gas‑to‑oil ratio and water cut. These evaluations will guide sustainable reservoir management and support Pertamina’s broader goal of increasing national oil output in 2026—part of the government’s target of achieving 1 million barrels per day. According to management, the discovery reflects the company’s commitment to technological innovation and improved exploration strategies that strengthen Indonesia’s long‑term energy security.Source: https://www.cnnindonesia.com/ekonomi/20260105184150-85-1313814/pertamina-temukan-sumur-minyak-baru-potensi-3442-barel-per-hari (ICE GIACARTA)
