MALAYSIA'S IPO MARKET ON TRACK FOR 60 LISTINGS IN 2025
Kuala Lumpur, 9 December 2025 – Initial public offerings (IPOs) on Bursa Malaysia have shown strong performance this year, with the number of listings expected to reach 60 companies, surpassing last year’s 55 and potentially raising close to RM30 billion (approximately EUR6.18 billion) in market capital, according to Finance Minister II Datuk Seri Amir Hamzah Azizan. He said the government and Bursa Malaysia are now shifting focus from the sheer number of IPOs to attracting larger, higher-quality companies to strengthen the Main Market. The listing of marine transportation firm Orkim Bhd, the 58th IPO this year, underscores strong investor confidence, even as the stock debuted flat at 92 cents. Amir Hamzah highlighted continued government support for high-potential and mid-tier companies through initiatives such as the GEAR-uP agenda, while Orkim’s management emphasised its long-term growth prospects and dividend policy following its RM92 million (approximately EUR18.96 million) capital raise.
