MALAYSIA GREENLIT RM54.1B DIGITAL INVESTMENTS IN 3Q2025, SAYS MDEC
Kuala Lumpur, 29 December 2025 – Malaysia recorded RM54.13 billion (approximately EUR11.15 billion) in approved digital investments in 3Q2025, creating 21,815 high-value jobs across 402 companies, according to Malaysia Digital Economy Corporation (MDEC). Singapore was the largest investor with RM25.1 billion (approximately EUR5.17 billion), followed by Malaysia with RM17.2 billion (approximately EUR3.54 billion), the U.S. with RM6.4 billion (approximately EUR1.32 billion), and China (approximately EUR617.43 million). Artificial Intelligence (AI)-related projects alone generated 8,328 jobs, highlighting strong demand for digital talent. The Klang Valley, including Kuala Lumpur and Selangor, attracted 88% of investments and nearly 90% of the jobs due to mature infrastructure and talent concentration. Digital Minister Gobind Singh Deo emphasized that Malaysia’s growing AI capabilities position the country to shift from tech users to creators of globally competitive AI solutions, while MDEC Chief Executive Officer Anuar Fariz Fadzil noted the nation’s strategic role as a digital hub in Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN), supported by a skilled workforce and a strong ecosystem for responsible, AI-driven innovation and cross-border investment.
