KAZAKHSTAN-REGION-FARM-CONSTRUCTION

Dairy farm project in Almaty region to draw over $29 million in investmentA new dairy farm with a capacity for 1,200 head of cattle is set to be built in Konayev, the Almaty region, with a total investment exceeding 15 billion tenge (over $29 million), the Ministry of Agriculture reported Tuesday. The 1,900-hectare facility is projected to produce up to 13,000 tonnes of milk annually once it reaches full operational capacity by 2030.The investment is being made by the company Molochnaya Dolina (Milk Valley). The project will encompass the full production cycle, from growing fodder crops to processing commercial milk. This initiative supports a national goal of achieving self-sufficiency in milk and dairy products by 2027. Agriculture Minister Aidarbek Saparov stated last year that 116 modern dairy farms are planned for launch by that date, which would boost annual milk production by 600,000 tons and eliminate import dependency.Kazakhstan's milk production in the first 11 months of 2025 reached 3.5 million tonnes, a 5% year-on-year increase.
