IN 2026, GDDKIA PLANS TO OPEN 300 KM OF NEW ROADS IN POLAND
In 2025, the General Directorate for National Roads and Motorways (GDDKiA) completed nearly 400 km of new routes, and in 2026 it plans to open another 300 km. Later this year, it will announce a tender for the construction of the eastern section of the Warsaw agglomeration bypass. Deputy Minister of Infrastructure Stanisław Bukowiec also reports that road investments worth PLN55bn are currently underway. They will result in additional kilometres of expressways that drivers will be able to use in the coming years. “In 2026, we want to open approximately 300 km of roads”, he says. More detailed data on the activities carried out this year is presented by the head of GDDKiA Paweł Woźniak. He reports that 1,370 km of national roads are currently under construction. The Directorate has also announced tenders for 565.6 km of roads worth PLN23.6bn and is preparing tenders for another 2,550 km of roads. (ICE VARSAVIA)
