AIIB APPROVES US$21M FINANCING FOR 100 MW PASURUAN SOLAR POWER PROJECT
The Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB) has approved US$21 million (IDR352.5 billion) in non‑sovereign financing for the 100‑megawatt Pasuruan solar power project in East Java, Indonesia. The initiative, part of the Hijaunesia Green Project Financing program, will be developed as a new ground‑mounted solar plant. The Asian Development Bank (ADB) is serving as lead arranger, ensuring compliance with its Safeguard Policy Statement and Indonesian environmental and social regulations. Sponsored by PT PLN Indonesia Power Renewables in partnership with Vena Energy Indonesia, the project is expected to significantly support Indonesia’s clean energy transition and long‑term decarbonization goals. The facility will occupy about 401.5 hectares of permanent land plus 21.1 hectares for transmission corridors, with development activities affecting around 85 households. To mitigate risks, the plan includes pollution control, biodiversity protection, and a comprehensive social management program emphasizing livelihood restoration and gender mainstreaming. Continuous monitoring and stakeholder engagement will be implemented throughout the project lifecycle to uphold environmental, social, and governance standards, reinforcing Indonesia’s broader renewable energy ambitions.Source: https://indonesiabusinesspost.com/5918/energy-and-resources/aiib-approves-us-21m-financing-for-100-mw-pasuruan-solar-power-project# (ICE GIACARTA)
