UKRAINE’S INTERNATIONAL RESERVES INCREASED BY MORE THAN 30% TO USD 57.3 BILLION IN 2025

Ukraine’s international reserves rose by more than 30% in 2025 to reach a record USD 57.3 billion as of 1 January 2026, the highest level in the country’s history, according to preliminary data from the National Bank of Ukraine (NBU).The rise was driven mainly by strong inflows from international partners, which exceeded FX debt repayments and the NBU’s foreign exchange interventions. In December alone, reserves grew by 4.6% month-on-month, supported by financing from the EU, the World Bank, and domestic bond placements, as well as positive revaluation effects. In total, Ukraine received USD 52.4 billion in international financial assistance in 2025. The NBU said the record reserve level provides a solid buffer for maintaining exchange rate stability and covers 5.9 months of future imports.https://bank.gov.ua/en/news/all/mijnarodni-rezervi-ukrayini-zrosli-uprodovj-2025-roku-na-ponad-30-do-573-mlrd-dol-ssha (ICE KIEV)
