INDONESIA PUBLISHES 2026 STATE BUDGET

The Indonesian government officially released the 2026 State Budget on January 7, 2026, following its enactment under Law No. 15/2025 on January 1 by President Prabowo Subianto. The budget targets state revenue of IDR3,153.58 trillion, primarily sourced from taxes (IDR2,693.71 trillion), non‑tax revenue, and grants. Domestic tax revenues are projected to contribute IDR2,601.25 trillion, while state expenditures and transfers to regions (TKD) total IDR3,842.73 trillion. The development goals for 2026 include GNI per capita of US$5,520, a 37.14% reduction in greenhouse gas emissions, improved environmental and human capital indices, lower poverty and unemployment rates, and economic growth of 5.4%. The State Budget Law was issued nearly three months after the House approved the bill on September 23, 2025, raising concerns from civil society groups about transparency and potential fiscal discretion. The Kanal Foundation highlighted the lack of timely disclosure and warned that insufficient public access to the full budget document limits citizens’ ability to verify government claims about development plans and spending. They argue the budget should have been enacted no later than October, in line with standard legislative timelines following parliamentary approval.Source: https://en.tempo.co/read/2078830/indonesia-publishes-2026-state-budget-heres-the-details#  (ICE GIACARTA)
