We are pleased to announce the launch of the Global Gateway Early-Stage Investment Mechanism, a new call for proposals designed to provide financial support to EU companies for early-stage project conception in the transport, artificial intelligence, energy and urban development sectors. You can find all the information in this link, including also details about an online information session for candidates that will take place on January 20th. For reason of transparency and equal treatment, questions about the call will be answered exclusively through the means indicated in the Guidelines for applicants. This pilot initiative complements other existing tools and platforms like the recently launched Investment Hub, and is designed to provide upstream targeted support to European companies in the initial phases of their engagement with partner countries. It will do so by allocating around 20-30 small grants (0,5-2MEUR) through a competitive process (call for proposals) to EU companies, hoping to trigger future investments and significantly increase both the quality and number of EU private sector-led projects our partner countries. The call is organized in 5 lots covering different sectors and regions.
