IN 2025, THE AGRICULTURAL SECTOR ACCOUNTED FOR UP TO 55% OF UKRAINE’S EXPORTS.
The Ukrainian Agrarian Confederation described this year as a true test of endurance for the agricultural industry. Despite ongoing systematic attacks by the enemy on ports, terminals, and the energy sector, farmers have remained the backbone of the national economy. Last year, the agro-industrial complex contributed approximately 55% to Ukraine’s exports, generating over $22B in foreign exchange earnings.Overall, Ukraine harvested 80 million tons of grain and oilseed crops. However, around three million tons of corn remain in fields, primarily in the border regions of Sumy, Kharkiv, and Chernihiv. Experts emphasize that the primary goal now is not only to complete the harvest but also to maintain the industry’s positions in global markets.Despite these successes, the Ukrainian agricultural sector ranks second in terms of bankruptcies. Logistics challenges often consume most of the profit, forcing businesses to operate on the brink of collapse. At the same time, Ukraine is actively preparing for EU accession, where agricultural policies are undergoing significant transformation due to protests from farmers and changes in environmental standards.https://agroconf.org/content/kozhen-drugiy-dolar-v-ekonomici-ukrayini-agrarniy-pavlo-kovalhttps://ubn.news/in-2025-the-agricultural-sector-accounted-for-up-to-55-of-ukraines-exports/ (ICE KIEV)
