Kazakhstan’s Ak Bidai grain terminal boosts transshipment 1.7-fold in 2025Kazakhstan’s Ak Bidai Terminal JSC, one of the largest grain terminals on the Caspian Sea, increased grain transshipment by 70% in 2025 to 316,500 tonnes, up from 182,100 tonnes in 2024, the Agriculture Ministry said.Barley accounted for most of the volumes at 298,100 tonnes, with wheat making up the remaining 18,400 tonnes.The main destination of Kazakh grain exports was Iran.Given rising demand from Iranian buyers, the grain transshipment through the terminal in 2026 is expected to come to 400,000 tonnes, the ministry said.Ak Bidai Terminal JSC is a subsidiary of state grain operator Food Contract Corporation. Located in the port of Aktau, the terminal was built in 2002 and primarily handles grain transfers from railcars to seagoing vessels. Its annual capacity is 600,000 tonnes. (ICE ALMATY)
