INDONESIA PROMOTES STRATEGIC SUSTAINABLE INVESTMENT PROJECTS AT WEF

Danantara Indonesia has introduced three major investment initiatives aimed at promoting green and sustainable economic growth: a national waste‑to‑energy program, the development of plasma‑derived pharmaceutical products, and the construction of the “Kampung Haji” in Mecca. During the World Economic Forum (WEF) 2026 in Davos, the company explained that these projects are part of 30–40 investment agreements currently under development, all expected to strengthen Indonesia’s position on the global investment map. According to Stefanus Ade Hadiwidjaja, Managing Director of Investment, the waste‑to‑energy program will be the company’s main focus for the next two years, with implementation planned in 30 cities and potential collaboration with the Swiss Chamber of Commerce. The other initiatives include expanding Indonesia’s capacity to produce essential plasma‑derived medicines locally, reducing dependence on imports, and building the Kampung Haji to improve services for Indonesian pilgrims—the largest group of Hajj and Umrah participants. Indonesia’s Minister of Investment and Downstreaming, Rosan Roeslani, emphasized that the country’s presence at WEF 2026 forms part of a broader strategy for economic diplomacy. The forum, held from January 19 to 22, was attended by the Ministry, Danantara Indonesia, and the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kadin Indonesia).Source: https://rri.co.id/en/business/2119950/indonesia-promotes-strategic-sustainable-investment-projects-at-wef  (ICE GIACARTA)
