Kuala Lumpur, 18 January 2026 – AirAsia X Bhd has completed the acquisition of AirAsia Bhd and AirAsia Aviation Group Ltd from Capital A Bhd, finalising the consolidation of all AirAsia-branded airlines under a single platform, AirAsia Group. The deal was settled through the issuance of about 2.31 billion new AirAsia X shares to Capital A and its shareholders, along with AirAsia X assuming RM3.8 billion (approximately EUR 798,251,000) in debt and was complemented by a private placement of 606.06 million shares to independent third-party investors, with all new shares set to be listed and quoted on Bursa Malaysia on Jan 19, 2026.
