European Parliament President Roberta Metsola said on Tuesday that the Parliament looks forward to deepening cooperation with Jordan as a key partner in the region, stressing that the European Union is strengthening its partnership with the Kingdom through a €500 million macro-financial assistance package in the form of loans. In a post on the X platform, Metsola explained that the assistance agreement was signed on Tuesday to support the resilience of the Jordanian economy. On the same day, the European Council formally approved a decision to provide an additional €500 million in macro-financial assistance to Jordan.
