WATER LOSSES IN JORDAN REACH 42.3%

Water losses in Jordan currently stand at 42.3%, reflecting a reduction of 12% over the past few years, according to Hisham Al-Heysah, Secretary-General of the Jordan Valley Authority. Speaking at the opening of the regional workshop titled “Regional Cooperation and the Annual Review Meeting of the Water Scarcity Initiative,” held in Amman, Al- Heysah said efforts to curb water losses are taking place amid rapidly evolving challenges that require shared responsibility among countries in the region. He stressed the importance of enhancing regional cooperation and coordination, developing integrated policies based on sound planning and efficient resource use, relying on data and scientific evidence in decision-making, and strengthening effective water governance frameworks.
