OVER 1,200 NEW INDUSTRIAL FIRMS SET TO BEGIN PRODUCTION IN INDONESIA
Indonesia will see 1,236 new industrial companies begin production in 2026, a development expected to strengthen the manufacturing base and create about 218,900 jobs nationwide. Industry Minister Agus Gumiwang Kartasasmita said on Sunday (18/1), manufacturing grew by over 5% last year, with investment reaching IDR 551.88 trillion (EUR 27.99 billion), and it is targeting 5.51% growth in non-oil-and-gas manufacturing GDP in 2026, led by base metals, food and beverages, and pharmaceuticals.
