INDONESIA EXPANDS FREE MEAL PROGRAM WITH MAJOR DAIRY INVESTMENT
Indonesia’s Free Nutritious Meals (MBG) program has gained significant private sector backing with a Rp1.14 trillion (US$67 million) investment from PT Ultrajaya Milk Industry & Trading Company. The firm inaugurated a new factory in Bekasi’s Cibitung industrial zone in December 2025, dedicated to producing UHT milk in 125 ml and 200 ml packages for the MBG program. Production capacity is expected to expand further in March 2026, aligning with the government’s push to ensure sufficient supply, quality standards, and strong collaboration between industry players and local dairy farmers. Ultrajaya’s facility integrates advanced Industry 4.0 technologies, including automated guided vehicles, autopilot forklifts, and smart storage systems, alongside an ultrafiltration wastewater treatment plant to boost efficiency and sustainability. To secure raw materials, the company operates two dairy farms with 7,000 cattle and plans to add 4,000 more. The Ministry of Industry has invited Ultrajaya to join the National Lighthouse Industry 4.0 initiative, reinforcing Indonesia’s dairy sector, strengthening food security, and supporting the nationwide MBG program.Source: https://en.antaranews.com/news/401538/indonesia-expands-free-meal-program-with-major-dairy-investment?utm_source=antaranews&utm_medium=mobile&utm_campaign=latest_category (ICE GIACARTA)
